TH350 Heavy Duty Transmission
Heavy Duty TH350: Starting at the "Front Pump", new seal, babbitt bushing, new pump gear, stator half of pump remachined flat with rotor to pump clearance set at .0025-.0035.
"Forward Drum" 5 Borg Warner forward clutches, clearance for the forward clutch pack .030-.045, 4 flat steels & 1 waved cushion steel, for a smoother engagement. All return springs used.
"Direct Drum" 5 Borg Warner direct clutches, 5 flat steels, clearance for the direct clutch pack .050-.070. Borg Warner intermediate band is used. An extra wide drum bushing is added for better support. All return springs used.
"Intermediate Sprag Race" A hardened sprag race replaces the stock one.
"Intermediate Clutches" 3 Borg-Warner Intermediate clutches, 3 flat steels & 1 waved cushion steel for a smoother engagement, and it helps the intermediate sprag race not to break.
"Low/Reverse Section" Hand picked planets, input internal gear, reaction carrier, reaction carrier shaft, the latest design "extra wide" Borg Warner low/reverse roller assembly, hand picked reaction sun gear, & sunshell, internal reaction gear, internal reaction gear support, sunshell, 5 Borg Warner clutches, 5 Turbulator low-drag steels, HD bronze rear case bushing, a teflon extension housing bushing is used instead of the babbitt or bronze bushing, new gear on the governor.
"Valve Body" We use the Trans-Go Heavy Duty Shift kit modified to our HD specifications to give more holding capacity. We work with the accumulators to give the best possible part throttle shifts, and progressively firmer shifts with more throttle opening. The late design Sealed Power (filtran zero-leak) filter is used in this transmission. A pan magnet is added. An adjustable modulator is used to fine tune part throttle shifts.
