700R4/4L60E - Continental 10" Non-Lockup

Continental Torque Converters offers a 10" non-lockup for the 700R4 and the 4L60E transmission. These torque converters are designed for street, street/strip or road racing. This torque converter is approximately 15-17 lbs. lighter (including the fluid) than the stock 12" OEM style torque converter, and can handle 475 lb. ft. of torque and 475 horsepower. It is available in stalls from 2,200-3,200 rpm for road racing or street/strip. These converters have proven themselves to be an very good alternative for the person who does not want a lockup torque converter. If you have more than the 475 horsepower or 475 lb. ft. of torque, then you will need anti-ballooning plates. This will increase the capacity of the torque converter, to over 750 horsepower.
